On behalf of the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, welcome to our flagship conference, the International Microwave Symposium, the world’s premier microwave conference. Some people call it the IMS, some call it MTT (“are you going to MTT this year?”), some people simply call it “the Show” – but no matter what you call it, there is no better place for a microwave engineer to be in June! This year’s conference is especially significant as we celebrate our society’s diamond (60th!) anniversary and the 60th anniversary of our first conference. Over these 60 years our conference has grown from 210 attendees with 12 papers back in 1952 to over 9000 attendees with over 600 papers today. And I can’t think of a better place to celebrate our anniversary than in beautiful Montreal. It promises to be a memorable week with great papers, great exhibits, great networking, and great times for the global microwave community. I hope that you will be able to join us as well.
